Part-CAO is the combined regime — a single organisation approval that covers both light-aircraft maintenance and continuing-airworthiness management under one MOE-and-CAME-style document. The scope is narrower than Part-145 + Part-CAMO combined, but the regulator’s audit grain is the same.
Authoring this Part involved the unusual step of mapping CAO obligations to their Part-145 and Part-CAMO equivalents to ensure no leaf is dropped — CAO inherits structurally from both. Those equivalences are reflected in the checklist’s See-also fields and make it usable as a cross-reference document during scope changes.
