Part-CAMO is where continuing-airworthiness management lives — not the wrench-turning, but the airworthiness review, the maintenance programme, the contracting-out of work to Part-145 organisations and the data flow back from them. The IR is short; the AMC is where most of the audit weight sits.
Authoring this Part surfaced the structural feature that makes CAMO audits different from Part-145 audits: a lot of obligations are delegated-and-tracked rather than performed, so the audit question often asks for evidence of oversight rather than evidence of action. The checklist reflects that throughout.
